Changes to the 1718 Sanctions List and to the United Nations Security Council Consolidated List | 16 August 2023

The United Nations Security Council Subsidiary Organs Branch (the Secretariat) automatically conveys updates to the  Committees’ lists and to the United Nations Security Council Consolidated List, to States, regional and sub-regional organizations, and private entities/individuals by e-mail shortly following updates made to the Lists.

The update to the lists mentioned in the subject above was made on 16 August 2023.

United Nations Security Council Changes to the ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions | 21 July 2023

On 21 July 2023, the Security Council Committee, pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh), Al‑Qaida and associated individuals, groups, undertakings and entities enacted the amendments specified with strikethrough and underline in the entries below on its ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List of individuals and entities subject to the assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of Security Council resolution 2610 (2021), and adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations. 

The update to the lists mentioned in the subject above was made on 21 July 2023.

United Nations Security Council ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee Removes Two Entries from Its Sanctions List | 05 June 2023


On 5 June 2023, the Security Council Committee, pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh), Al‑Qaida and associated individuals, groups, undertakings and entities removed the entries below from the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al‑Qaida Sanctions List after concluding its consideration of the de-listing requests for these names submitted through the Office of the Ombudsperson established pursuant to Security Council resolution 1904 (2009), and of the Comprehensive Reports of the Ombudsperson on these de-listing requests.

Therefore, the assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of Security Council resolution 2610 (2021) and adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations no longer apply to the entries.

United Nations Security Council ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee has enacted amendments to the Sanctions List | 02 June 2023

On 2 June 2023, the United Nations Security Council Committee, pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh), Al‑Qaida and associated individuals, groups, undertakings, and entities approved the addition of the entries specified below to its ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List of individuals and entities subject to the assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of Security Council resolution 2610 (2021) and adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.
