As the current Director of Operations at the BVI Financial Services Commission, Ms Kamika A Forbes functions as the Chief of Staff for the Office of the Deputy Managing Director, Operations. Her role encompasses implementing strategic and operational initiatives across the Commission's Operations portfolio, providing leadership for key operational units, and promoting operational excellence to achieve both divisional and organisational goals. Ms Forbes has over 14 years of experience as a Legal Practitioner in the Virgin Islands and more than 9 years in financial services. Since joining the Commission in 2016, she has held several senior positions, including Senior Legal Counsel and Deputy Registrar of Trade Marks, Patents, and Copyright. Prior to her current appointment, she served as Deputy Director of Operations, where she provided oversight for critical operational functions, managed divisional activities, and ensured the smooth execution of strategic and operational goals. Her career journey also includes practising law privately, with experience in civil, property, and family law, and being fully qualified to practise as a Barrister in the Courts of England and Wales and the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Courts.
