FIA Publishes Trust & Corporate Service Providers Strategic Analysis Report
Road Town, Tortola - The BVI Financial Services Commission (the Commission) is encouraging its licensees, particularly Trust and Corporate Service Providers (TCSPs), to review the 2026 Trust & Corporate Service Providers Strategic Analysis Report, recently published by the BVI Financial Investigation Agency (FIA). The report examines key suspicious activity trends, typologies and emerging risks identified within the TCSP sector between January 2023 and March 2026.
The report identifies fraud as the most frequently reported suspected predicate offence. Common typologies identified include layering through company structures, concealment of beneficial ownership, real estate investment, professional enablement and the unauthorised diversion of trust proceeds.
The report also highlights the cross-border nature of TCSP-related risks, with the United States, United Kingdom, Russia and Brazil showing significant links to BVI business companies.
The Commission encourages TCSPs and other relevant licensees to review the report and consider its findings as part of their AML/CFT/CPF framework. Licensees should also pay particular attention to onboarding and customer due diligence, beneficial ownership, suspicious activity monitoring and reporting, and other risks highlighted in the report.
The TCSP report can be accessed on the FSC website here:
The report is also available on the FIA’s website.
