Press Release 22 of 2025 - BVI FSC Announces Fall 2025 Meet The Regulator Forum
BVI FSC ANNOUNCES FALL 2025 MEET THE REGULATOR FORUM
The BVI Financial Services Commission (the FSC) is set to host its Fall 2025 Meet the Regulator Forum on Tuesday, 9th December 2025, at the Eileene L Parsons Auditorium, H Lavity Stoutt Community College. The Forum will create a temporary divergence from the traditional focus on regulatory dialogue featuring updates on recent developments, offering instead a powerful and insightful exploration of the legacy of the late Dr Robert A Mathavious, whose vision and leadership were instrumental in shaping the BVI’s financial services industry as we know it.
An impressive slate of distinguished speakers will provide attendees with a vivid recounting of Dr Mathavious’s role in helping to build the sector. Their contributions will highlight the underpinning work, support, and actions that helped to elevate the BVI to global prominence in the financial services business arena.
The programme which promises to be engaging, will be presented under the theme - ‘Comprehensive Citations on Robert A. Mathavious’ Contribution to BVI Financial Services Blueprint, Strategy and Endowment’, and will cover key themes, including:
- The establishment of the BVI’s status as a leading international finance centre
- Legislative reform and innovation
- Strategic positioning of talent and leadership
- Diplomacy through international negotiations and rapprochement
Underscoring for industry participants, the value of attending the Forum, Managing Director and CEO of the FSC, Mr Kenneth Baker stated: “This specific Meet the Regulator Forum will be the single most comprehensive and authoritative source of information regarding the evolution of financial services from the 1990s to the present day. It will provide a rare opportunity to trace the sector’s transformation over more than three decades, examining the pivotal reforms, strategic decisions, challenges and opportunities which predominantly arose under Dr Mathavious’ watch. The calibre of speakers that we have assembled reflects the depth of insight that attendees can expect to acquire. Their collective expertise will ensure that attendees gain a nuanced understanding of the legacy and trajectory of this important sector, as well as its future prospects.”
Given the historical and comprehensive nature of the Forum discussions, in addition to industry stakeholders, attendance will be extended by limited invitation to Government and other officials, members of the press, academics, and senior students from across the Territory.
Stakeholders are advised to register early when the Eventbrite portal opens on Thursday, 20th November 2025, as seating is limited.
