On Sunday, 14 September 2025, with profound sadness, the Commission learned of the passing of
Dr Robert Anderson Mathavious, OBE,
the first Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the BVI Financial Services Commission.
Dr Mathavious was not only a major driving force for the establishment of the Commission, but he led our institution and this important sector with distinction and unwavering dedication for over two decades.
