  1. Financial Sanctions Notice – Reporting of Frozen Assets (2025)
    The Sanctions (EU Exit) (Miscellaneous Amendments) (No. 2) Regulations 2024 (S.I. 2024/No. 1157) amended 35 UK sanctions regulations containing financial sanctions measures. As a result of these amendments, holders of funds or economic resources controlled, held, or owned by a designated person are subject to new mandatory reporting requirements. Persons in possession of this information are therefore requested to complete and submit the appropriate reporting form to the Virgin Islands Sanctions Unit via email at [email protected] by no later than Sunday, 30 November, 2025. The Iran sanctions regime came into force on the 14th December, 2023, revoking and replacing the Iran (Human Rights) sanctions regime. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office have updated the UK Sanctions List on 14 December 2023. This list provides details of those designated under regulations made under the Sanctions Act. The Iran (Sanctions) Regulations 2023 aims to encourage the Government of Iran to comply with international human rights law and to respect human rights, and to deter the Government of Iran or an armed group backed by the Government of Iran from conducting hostile activity against the United Kingdom and other countries.

  24. New Reporting Requirements for Designated Persons Under the Russia Regime: On 14th March 2024, the Russa (Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 2024 SI 2024 No. 370 came into force in the Virgin Islands. Please see Notice issued by the Governor’s Office, which may be found here
