PUBLIC ALERT:  FRAUDULENT EMAILS IMPERSONATING FSC OFFICIALS


Tortola, British Virgin Islands – 24 March 2026 – The BVI Financial Services Commission (the Commission) is advising industry practitioners and the general public that it has become aware of fraudulent emails being circulated that are impersonating officials of the Commission.  

Industry practitioners and the public are advised to be vigilant when dealing with emails purportedly sent on behalf of the Commission.  

Emails originating from the Commission follow a standard format, in that, they only carry the domain extension bvifsc.vg.  Recipients using a computer may hover over the sender’s email address to verify that it is an authentic address from the Commission. 

The Commission has issued a formal advisory – Public Statement 5 of 2026 - FRAUDULENT EMAILS | British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission, on this matter, and encourages all stakeholders to familiarise themselves with its contents.
