COMMISSION MOURNS THE DEATH OF DEPUTY DIRECTOR TREVECCA HODGE

Tortola, British Virgin Islands – 19 August 2025 -  With profound sadness, the management and staff of the BVI Financial Services Commission (the Commission) reflect on the passing (on 12 August 2025) of long-time colleague, Trevecca Hodge.

In June 2025, Trevecca marked 25 years of dedicated service to the Commission. Colleagues fondly remember her as passionate about her regulatory responsibilities, dependable, and dedicated to the Commission's work. Trevecca was both firm and approachable, with a recurring sentiment being her insistence on licensee adherence to filing obligations.

On her passing, she held the position of Deputy Director, Authorisation Unit, in the Authorisation and Supervision regulatory Division. Prior to this role, she served as Deputy Director, Acting Director, and Senior Regulator in the Insurance Unit, among other roles.

During her career at the Commission, Trevecca was instrumental in helping to shape the compliance, risk and regulatory framework, and played a critical role of gatekeeper, as she supervised the handling of all licensing and post-licensing applications requiring the Commission’s approval.

Her passing is a significant loss to the Commission family, and the domestic and international regulatory community.

The Managing Director/CEO and the entire Commission extend deepest condolences to Trevecca’s family and loved ones. We hope that they may find comfort in the cherished memories and strength from the love and courage she displayed to all.
