BVI FSC ANNOUNCES THE RETIREMENT OF DEPUTY REGISTRAR  LYDIA GEORGE

The BVI Financial Services Commission (the Commission) today announced the retirement of longstanding Deputy Registrar of Corporate Affairs - Mrs Lydia George. Mrs George demitted office on  31 December 2025, following thirty-two (32) years of dedicated service to the Commission.

During her tenure, Mrs George rose through the ranks, serving in various capacities, including Assistant Registrar, Senior Assistant Registrar, Acting Registrar, and Deputy Registrar.  Her lasting mark will include the significant contributions she made to the administration and development of the Commission’s Registry of Corporate Affairs.

Registrar of Corporate Affairs – Mrs Myrna P Herbert highlighted the strong supporting role that Mrs George played in helping to uphold the Commission’s mandate to maintain robust, transparent, and efficient registration of corporate entities in the Virgin Islands.  She added, “Having worked with Lydia at the Registry for over three decades, it is difficult to imagine her absence.  She knew and understood the inner workings of the Registry, and many industry participants regularly drew on her knowledge via their queries.  It has been a great pleasure to work with her.  On behalf of our Managing Director and CEO, Mr Kenneth Baker, and the rest of the Commission, I wish her the best in her well-deserved retirement”.

This Press Release follows the Commission’s earlier announcement of the appointment of Dr Michelle Todman Smith (view Press Release HERE) to the position of Deputy Registrar of Corporate Affairs.  Mrs George, having given necessary support to the transition, has fully turned over the Deputy Registrar reins to Dr Todman Smith, who will continue to lead the operations end of the Registry of Corporate Affairs.
