ADVISORY WARNING

 

BVI Financial Services

Tortola, British Virgin Islands – 28 November, 2012 – The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission (the “FSC”) has been made aware that an entity calling itself BVI Financial Services, also operating as BVI Securities & Escrow Ltd., as BVI Financial & Securities, and as BVI Financial, has been offering securities investments, investment management, loans and mortgages, and escrow services whilst purporting to be incorporated, licensed and regulated in the British Virgin Islands. 

 

As a result of the FSC’s enquiries, it would appear that this entity uses the aforementioned company and trading names, and is offering its products and services through its website located at www.bvifinancial.com. The entity is also purporting to be operating from a business address of “BVI Home Office, Haycraft Building, 1 Pasea Estate, Road Town, Tortola, VG1120, British Virgin Islands”.

 

The FSC states that it has no connection or affiliation whatsoever neither with the aforementioned entity, nor with any of its trading names. The address published by the aforementioned entity is incorrect.

 

BVI Financial Services, also known as BVI Securities & Escrow Ltd., as BVI Financial & Securities, and as BVI Financial, has never been registered or incorporated as a company in the British Virgin Islands. BVI Financial Services, also known as BVI Securities & Escrow Ltd., as BVI Financial & Securities, and as BVI Financial, has also never been licensed by the FSC to carry on financial services business in or from within the Territory. 

 

Members of the public are therefore advised to exercise extreme caution if solicited at any time by this entity under any of its aforementioned company and trading names.   

 

The public is invited to provide the FSC with any relevant information on this, and any other questionable entities that are purportedly operating in or from within the Territory.

 

The FSC is issuing this Advisory Warning under Section 4(1)(l) of the Financial Services Commission Act, 2001.
